Primary Inspection Failure — Replace Immediately SharkBite brass ball valve on DI line is non-compliant. Brass leaches copper/zinc into deionized water, contaminating the loop and violating lab-grade DI standards. All DI-side components must be non-metallic.

⚙ Field Notes & Verify Before Order

Verify part numbers with distributor — T&S and Chicago Faucets update catalog numbers with trim/finish options. Confirm at Ferguson, Hajoca, or Grainger before ordering.
No brass on DI side — Uponor ProPEX brass fittings are for potable supply only. Transition to PVDF piping before the DI loop begins.
Expansion tool required — Uponor PEX-A expansion system requires an F1960 expansion tool (rental available at most supply houses).
RPZ vs dual-check — Confirm backflow preventer type required with your local AHJ/inspector before rough-in.
Pull permit before work — This is a medical facility. Work without a permit on DI lines will result in re-inspection failure regardless of materials used.
Pressure test before closing — 100 PSI static hold for 2 hours on PEX-A system before covering or concealing any lines.
